His book "The Meaning of Race" ( The importance of race ) examines the historical development and the philosophical and political roots of the racial term. It continues to explore the relationship between the concept of race and contemporary theories of multiculturalism and pluralism. "Man, Beast and Zombie" ( humans, animals and Zombie ) explores the historical causes, philosophical and theological views and methodological problems of contemporary theories of human nature , especially epistemology and evolutionary psychology . The book not yet published "The Museum of Difference" ( The Museum of the difference ) deals with the relationship between scientific and political concepts of human differences, as well as between the concepts of human nature and human differences.

Malik is a sharp critic of the ideology of multiculturalism. For him, this is “the idea that people should not be treated the same despite their differences, but rather differently because of these differences”. According to Malik, personal identity becomes a pre-enlightenment function of the respective collective, culture-related group membership. For the “libertarian left, staunch anti-racist and at the same time passionate supporter of the universal values of the Enlightenment”, however, it is necessary to “break the fixation on culture”, especially the respective migrant one, and “break out of the shells of our cultures”.
