Kerspenhausen is the second largest district of the market town of Niederaula in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse . It is located northeast of the main town in the Waldhessen region on the Fulda .

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1146. The current place name develops from Christpinhusin and Kyrspanshusen to today's Kerspenhausen.

There is an Evangelical Reformed church in the village in the Hessian-Waldeck parish of Kerspenhausen (these include Rossbach and Hilperhausen ). According to the inscription above the entrance, construction began in 1512; In 1768 a renovation was carried out.

In the course of administrative reform in Hesse , the neighboring community Hilperhausen was on December 1, 1970 to voluntarily incorporated . Kerspenhausen came to Niederaula on August 1, 1972.
