Kevin Charles Langford (born December 21, 1985 in Fort Worth , Texas ) is an American basketball player . After studying in his home country, Langford played as a professional in Europe. His first professional position was the German first division club Paderborn Baskets in the 2009/10 basketball Bundesliga . His brother Keith , two years older than him, is much better known as a basketball player; he played in the NBA and won several international and national club titles in Europe.

Career

Langford went to study from Texas to the University of California, Berkeley , where he played for the college team Golden Bears in the Pacific-10 Conference of the NCAA in the 2004/05 season . In 2005 he left the west coast and continued his studies at Texas Christian University in his hometown. After the usual one-year break from competition after the change of university, according to the NCAA regulations, Langford played for three years from 2006 to 2009 for the Horned Frogs , who were then playing in the Mountain West Conference (MWC) of the NCAA. The Horned Frogs, who changed the conference several times in the NCAA after the end of the Southwest Conference in 1996, played little successfully in the MWC and could not recommend themselves for any " postseason " tournament of the NCAA. Langford showed consistently good, individually, but not outstanding performances and, in contrast to his brother Keith, did not move into the field of vision of the highest endowed professional league NBA .

In 2009 Langford signed his first professional contract with the German first division club from Paderborn . This rose after first reaching the championship play-offs in the previous year in the basketball Bundesliga 2009/10 from bottom of the table. In the 2010/11 season Langford then played in the first Hungarian league for the newcomer Factum Sport from Debrecen . The team was only just able to avoid relegation on the penultimate place in the table. For the 2011/12 season Langford got a contract in the second Spanish league LEB Oro with Grupo Iruña from Navarra . In the regular season Navarra reached a third place and failed in the play-offs for promotion to the ACB league in the semi-final series at the eventual winner Menorca Bàsquet . In the 2012/13 season Langford then played in the first Greek league A1 Ethniki for Kolossos from Rhodes , which, however, after a third place in the previous year, ended the season in tenth place and missed the play-offs for the championship. For the 2013/14 season, Langford got a contract with the league competitor Panionios from the capital Athens , who play in the second most important European club competition Eurocup 2013/14 after a third place in the preseason .
