Kilimli is a town and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Zonguldak in the western Black Sea region . The city is located about five kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Zonguldak on the coast. The place was raised to Belediye (municipality) in 1952 . Kilimli has a station on the Irmak – Karabük – Zonguldak railway line .
The district is located in the northeast of the province on the Black Sea . It borders Çaycuma and Gökçebey counties to the east, Devrek county to the south and Ereğli county to the west . In the north, the Black Sea forms a natural border. The coastal road (D010) from Zonguldak to Filyos runs through the city and the district from west to east. The circle is essentially flat and has hardly any major elevations.
The district was established as part of a regional reform at the end of 2012, when the former central district of Zonguldak was split off from the Bucak of the same name in the northeast (Law No. 6360). The southern borders of the new district were also slightly changed. The Bucak Kilimli included a population of 45,715 in the eleven villages to the last census before the area change (2000), this represented 20.93 percent of that county's population.
At the end of 2018, the Kilimli district consisted of the district town (58.43% of the district's population) and three other Belediye: Çatalağzı (7,042), Gelik (3,036) and Muslu (1,866 inhabitants). Furthermore, four villages belong to the district, Türkali (1,180) and Göbü (983 inh .) Are the two largest.
With 243.6 inhabitants per km², the district has the second highest population density in the province (for comparison, the province density: 179.5), the urban population is 92.24 percent.
The football club Kilimli Belediyespor plays in the city .
