Church district Paderborn
The Evangelical Church District Paderborn is one of 27 church districts within the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . The official seat is the city of Paderborn . The parish of Paderborn comprises around 78,000 believers and is divided into 14 parishes in the districts of Höxter and Paderborn as well as in the city of Lügde in the district of Lippe , whose parish in the core city is an exclave of the parish of Paderborn as well as the Westphalian regional church.
With over 2,474 km², the church district is the second largest in the regional church. Until it was founded in 1840, the area belonged to the Bielefeld church district .

structure
As in all Westphalian church districts, the district synod is the highest decision-making body. It elects the superintendent and the other members of the district synod committee, who leads the church district between the meetings of the district synod. Volker Neuhoff has been the superintendent since 2016.
