Side canal at Aitrang

Due to regular flooding on the lower reaches of Ebenhofen and Biessenhofen, extensive flood protection measures with guide dikes, protective walls and road elevations were carried out in 2005/2006 in the mouth area at the Kirnach power plant. A flood area was created above the Kirnach power plant, which is led past the power plant via a base ramp into the underwater area of the power plant. In the mother bed of the Kirnach 30 m³ / s remain, in the flood area 50 m³ / s flow over a wide area.

Kirnach power station

The power plant operated by Vereinigte Wertach-Elektrizitätswerke has a bottleneck output of 152 kW at a flow rate of 2.1 m³ / s and is driven by a Kaplan bulb turbine. The usable fall height is 7.05 m. The dam is equipped with an automatic dam with a width of 1.50 m and a height of 1.55 m and is intended for a discharge capacity of approx. 5 m³ / s. ! 547.8216395510.6301675
