The Bessenbach is a left tributary of the Aschaff in the districts of Miltenberg and Aschaffenburg in the Spessart in Lower Franconia . It rises above Oberbessenbach as Kirschlingsbach .
Surname
The name comes from the Old High German word bach and the personal name Basso or Bessa . The stream gave its name to the municipality of Bessenbach , through which it flows.

The Kirschlingsbach rises above Oberbessenbach on the northwest slope of the Hohen Wart (433 m). After about a kilometer of flow, it bears the name Bessenbach . This flows through the villages of Ober- and Straßbessenbach . This is where its largest tributary, the Morsbach, flows from the left. In Keilberg it is led under the factory halls of SAF-HOLLAND GmbH . North of the village, it flows into the Aschaff at the A 3 junction Bessenbach / Waldaschaff .
