Klaus-Jürgen Hoffie (born October 14, 1936 in Königsberg ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Darmstadt in 1957 , Hoffie first studied German language and literature, sport and political science in Frankfurt am Main . He then completed an apprenticeship as a news editor at the German Press Agency . From 1961 to 1972 he worked as a public relations manager at Deutsche Lufthansa AG and from 1970 to 1972 he was a part-time lecturer in public relations at the Technical University of Darmstadt . From 1972 to 1987 he was a member of the administrative board of the Deutsche Bundespost .

In 1984 Hoffie founded a consultancy for public relations (Hoffie & Partner Management Consultants GmbH). Since 1985 he has been a partner and member of the advisory board of various private broadcasting companies in Rhineland-Palatinate , Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria .

Political party

Hoffie occurred in 1968, the FDP in and was from 1970 to 1977 District Chairman of the party in the district of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt-Dieburg . From 1971 to 2005 he was a member of the state board of the FDP Hessen and from 1982 to 1985 deputy state chairman of the Hessian Liberals. In addition, until 2004 he was chairman of the FDP district of South Hesse-Starkenburg.

Hoffie was a member of the community council of Jugenheim from 1968 to 1974 and from 1977 to 1985 a member of the community council of Bickenbach . He was elected to the district council of Darmstadt-Land in 1972 and was a district council member of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district after the regional reform .

Hoffie was first elected to the German Bundestag in 1972 via the FDP state list . In parliament he was initially the research policy spokesman and later the transport and postal policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group. After his appointment as Hessian Minister of Economic Affairs, he resigned his Bundestag mandate on June 25, 1981. From 1983 to 1987 he was again a member of the Bundestag.

Public offices

After the murder of Heinz Herbert Karry , Hoffie was appointed to the social-liberal state government led by Prime Minister Holger Börner on June 22, 1981 as Hessian State Minister for Economics and Technology . During his tenure, he was responsible for the approval process for the construction of runway 18 West and the construction of the Biblis nuclear power plant . After the FDP's defeat in the state elections in 1982, he resigned from his ministerial office on September 28, 1982.
