Klaus Rott
Klaus Rott (born October 9, 1941 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor and director . He became known through the successful Austrian series A real Viennese does not go under , which was produced from 1975 to 1979 , where he played the role of Karli Sackbauer .
Life
After graduating from the TGM in Vienna, Klaus Rott completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar , which he completed in 1963, and then went to Germany , where, among other things, he appeared in the world premiere of Peter Handke's play Prophecy at the Oberhausen Theater . In 1968 he returned to Vienna and worked as a director and actor at the Theater der Jugend until 2008 .
In 2002 Rott received the Silver Medal of Honor of the City of Vienna from Vienna's City Councilor for Culture Andreas Mailath-Pokorny .
From 2003 to 2007, Rott organized a play entitled Der Herr Karli Sackbauer , in which he told how things went with the Sackbauer family from the TV series A real Viennese doesn't go under . A recording was released in 2007 as DVD Karli Sackbauer - A continuation by and with Klaus Rott .
In 2008 the first Henkel Fan Guide for Vienna was published , a humorous phrasebook for football fans on the occasion of the 2008 European Football Championship , whose Viennese texts are spoken by Klaus Rott.
Klaus Rott is married to the speaker and director Angelica Schütz. His brother was the television presenter and cultural journalist Wilfried Rott .
