Location of Kleinschirma in Saxony

Kleinschirma is a district of the municipality Oberschöna in the district of central Saxony (Free State of Saxony ). It was incorporated into Oberschöna on January 1, 1994.

geography

location

The Waldhufendorf Kleinschirma extends in a west-east direction over about 2 km in the valley of the Schirmbach , a tributary of the Great Striegis . The Schirmbach rises today from an earlier tributary about 1.5 km northwest of the original source in the central hospital forest , at an altitude of 450 m. Starting at Kleinschirma, he created a valley in the gneiss over a length of about 5 km , which gradually deepens from 20 to 40 m and in the current Wegefarth flows into the Große Striegis at 340 m above sea level.

The settlements in the current area of Kleinschirma lie at the foot of the Ore Mountains . It was not until the 12th century that interest turned to the large mountain forest, and a settlement movement of unimaginable proportions began.

history

The deed of foundation of the Altzella monastery from the year 1162 shows that the settlement of the area around the later Freiberg happened according to plan. B. Margrave Otto had around 20,000 hectares of forest reclaimed for the monastery foundation at his own expense. This can only have happened through the settlers from Franconia , Swabia and Thuringia who were brought into the country . It can be assumed that the majority of the villages within the foundation area, including Kleinschirma, were founded around 1162. The areas of the Striegis on the edge of the Zellwald forest and the Schirmbach valley belonged to the Altzella monastery until the Reformation .

In the first documentary mention of 1227 the settlement Schirmana minori is mentioned. Subsequent realizations are parva Schyrma (1353), umbrellas (1402) ZCU the Cleynen screens (1466), Clein Schirma (1555), from the small-screen (1578).

The area of Kleinschirma extends over 500 hectares. Already in 1529 Peter was Alnpeck with the Vorwerk invested Kleinschirma. In 1555 the Saxon Elector Moritz handed over the place to his Chancellor Ulrich von Mordeisen , which was assigned to the Freiberg district office in 1587 . The number of inhabitants of Kleinschirma can be estimated on the basis of traditions from the year 1552 to about 27 fully entitled hoof owners and 21 housemates and servants without landed property . Further documents from 1832 were found in the church tower ball. These documents from the then heir Gottfried Störl document the years 1806 to 1816. It was the time of the Napoleonic War. In the period from January 1, 1806 to 1816, the 338 inhabitants of Kleinschirma had to provide billeting for 21,515 men with 12,165 horses.

Until 1856, the administrative village of Kleinschirma was part of the Freiberg district office in Electoral Saxony or in the royal Saxon district. From 1856 the place belonged to the Freiberg judicial office and from 1875 to the Freiberg district administration . With the opening of the Dresden – Werdau railway line in 1869, Kleinschirma received a stop on the line. In 1834 the population of Kleinschirma was put at 253. In 1890 514 inhabitants are reported. The number of inhabitants changed little in the next few years. As in a report from 1905, there were 503 residents. In 1934 there were 555 inhabitants, 21% of whom were unemployed.

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Kleinschirma came to the Freiberg district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Freiberg district of Saxony from 1990 onwards . The 500 inhabitants as of 1985, of which 298 were of working age, lived in 190 households and 108 residential buildings. 46 buildings were erected before 1900, 22 from 1901–1945 and 39 from 1945–1984. 88 residential buildings were privately owned, eight publicly owned and ten owned by the LPG .

On January 1, 1994, Kleinschirma lost its independence and became part of the municipality of Oberschöna. In 1997 the area at the Waldcafé was incorporated into the Kleinwaltersdorf district of the city of Freiberg. In 2001 the number of inhabitants of Kleinschirma was 568. Since 2008 Kleinschirma belongs to the district of Central Saxony.
