history

Beginning in the metal processing industry

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Klepsch family ran a steel, iron and bronze foundry in Aussig (today CZ ). After the Second World War, all German-born citizens of the new Czechoslovak Republic were sold . The Klepsch family, for example, whose company now has more than 1,200 employees.

Since the foundry trade was a tied trade at that time, the opportunity for a new beginning did not arise until 1949, when Rudolf Klepsch senior. (1914–1996) leased the Brandstätter foundry in Zell am See. Two years later, the Zell-Metall company was founded.

Zell-Metall GmbH Engineering Plastics

Zell-Metall GmbH, the oldest company in the Klepsch Group, emerged from the Brandstätter foundry in 1951. Dr. Rudolf Klepsch Sr. however, recognized very early that engineering plastics would replace metals and other conventional materials in the future. That is why Zell-Metall started extrusion and injection molding of polyamide in 1955 . Initially, extrusion was operated in Zell am See and the injection molding division in Mühlbach im Pinzgau . In 1960 the company was merged at the new location in Kaprun.

In the following decades, many more plastics were added to the product portfolio. The original core business, the casting of semi-finished bronze products , was discontinued in 1986. The injection molding department was outsourced to Senova in 1989. Today Zell-Metall specializes in the extrusion of plastic semi-finished products in the form of plates, foils, solid and hollow rods for machining. The available materials range from conventional engineering plastics ( PA , POM , PET ) to high-performance plastics (e.g. PEEK ) and modified materials. In addition to the main location in Kaprun, Zell-Metall operates other production locations on the island of Ischia ( Italy ) and in Lenexa ( Kansas , USA ) as well as several logistics centers in Germany and abroad.

Senoplast Klepsch & Co. GmbH

Senoplast was founded in 1956 by Wilhelm Klepsch, the son of Rudolf senior. Initially, the company dealt with the recycling of old plastic material, from which the company name is derived (“senix” = Greek for “old”). These products are incorporated into a wide variety of finished products, such as B. cars, mobile homes, sanitary facilities, suitcases, roof boxes, boats, furniture or packaging for the food industry. Senova is the representative of the sister companies Senoplast and Zell-Metall in Austria and also represents other leading European manufacturers of semi-finished plastic products.
