history

Kloten-Bülach jets

In 2000 the Kloten-Bülach Jets emerged from the merger of the two clubs UHC Giants Kloten and UHC Hornets Bülach. If the two merged clubs are taken into account, the Kloten / Bülach location has made a significant contribution to the development of the sport of college hockey in Switzerland. Two years after the founding of the Swiss Floorball Association , the team of the then Giants Kloten was able to celebrate the title of Swiss champions (1987).

UHC Dietlikon

Beginnings

In autumn 1981, some secondary school students from Dietlikon decided to take part in the open floorball championship in the Zurich- Fluntern sports hall . At that time they were still assigned to the “little ones”, that is, the “pupils” category. They advanced to the final, which was lost. After this success, the Dietliker were invited again the following year, but this time for an experimental championship in the “Active” category. With ten teams, the first unofficial Swiss champion was chosen on various tournament days - with home and away matches and three games per day. At the end of the season, after tough battles, they finished seventh. In the summer of 1983 you received a letter from the then newly established floorball department of the Swiss Landhockey Association (SLHV) stating that you had to found a club if you wanted to take part in the first official championship. The new sport has become so enthusiastic that it was decided to take the ambitious project by hand. On August 16, 1983, all players of that time met and founded the UHC Dietlikon.

European Cup successes

As only the second Swiss women's team after the Red Ants Rychenberg from Winterthur in 2005, UHC Dietlikon brought the EuroFloorball Cup (now the Champions Cup ) back to Switzerland in 2007. The Swiss beat the Swedish champions IKSU Innebandy 4: 3 in the final .

In January 2008, the Zurich Unterland women were able to defend their European championship in Vantaa, Finland. Coach Marco Moser's team won a hard-fought game against last year's final opponent IKSU from Umeå (SWE) 3-2 after a penalty. The match winners include Daniela Morf, who made her comeback in December 2007, and Laura Tomatis with five penalties.

fusion

On February 5, 2018, the two associations voted in separate general assemblies for a merger. The new club should be called UHC Kloten-Dietlikon Jets. On March 26th, the merger agreement was finally accepted by both associations. The merger was finally completed on May 1, 2018.

successes

Men's

The first team achieved their greatest success in the still young history of the club in 2001 when they won the final of the Swiss Cup in front of over 2000 spectators in the Bern Wankdorfhalle. This success also earned the team the title of “Unterländer Sportsman of the Year 2001”. Since 2010 and after a break of four years, the first team has been playing in Switzerland's top division, the National League A (NLA). The team secured their first playoff participation in the first season after the promotion.
