The Knesenbach (outdated also Knöse (n) bach , the Knese , Gnöse ) is a right tributary of the Schwarzen Pockau in the Saxon Ore Mountains .
Surname
The name is derived from the Upper Sorbian knjez , which means “prince, lord”. What was meant here was probably the ruler of Nidberg Castle, which was founded in the 13th century .
course
The brook rises at the southern end of the village of Frühung and flows along the village to the northwest in the direction of Zöblitz , where the federal road 171 is crossed. It then flows around the serpentine quarries and shortly afterwards passes the northern foothills of the serpentine stone town of Zöblitz. Finally it flows through a large forest area before it flows into the Schwarze Pockau after about 6.3 km near the former electoral Vorwerk Geiselroda .
