Coal-Steam-Light is a regional touristic themed route, in particular a cycle route, which deals with the industrial history of the Central German industrial area in the area from Lutherstadt Wittenberg to Markkleeberg near Leipzig. The route leads from Lutherstadt Wittenberg over the Muldestausee , Delitzsch and Leipzig to Markkleeberg and covers about 120 kilometers. A total of 23 stations can be visited via this route, which can be reached by bike or by car.

The cycle route is a project of the tourism association WelterbeRegion Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg e. V. based in Wittenberg, which is supported by the districts of Wittenberg and Anhalt-Bitterfeld, the local communities as well as tourist providers and tourist associations from the region. The association is one of the five regional tourism associations of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The cycle path is also marketed by Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing GmbH.

Remarks

The industrial monument Kraftwerk Vockerode and Industrie- und Filmmuseum Wolfen are not directly on the route and can only be reached by a slightly longer detour. The last four places mentioned are in the vicinity of Markkleeberg. Sometimes the route is only given on the shortened route from Lutherstadt Wittenberg to the Wolfen Industrial and Film Museum.
