Konstantin Wladimirowitsch Pushkarev ( Russian Константин Владимирович Пушкарёв ; born February 12, 1985 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player .

Career

Konstantin Pushkarev began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . For his professional team, the attacker played in the 2002/03 season for the first time in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. In his rookie year , he received four penalty minutes in four games. He then moved to HK Awangard Omsk from the Russian Super League , with whom he became Russian champion in 2004 , even if he mostly played for their second team in the third-rate Pervaya League . The left-shooter left this after just one year at the beginning of the 2004/05 season to play in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League for the Calgary Hitmen , who had drawn him in the 2nd round of the 2004 CHL Import Draft . In the 2005/06 season he made his debut in the National Hockey League , for the Los Angeles Kings , who had already selected him in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in the second round as a total of 44 players. In his first year in the Californian franchise , however, he only played one game in the NHL and spent the rest of the season in their farm team , with the Manchester Monarchs , in the American Hockey League .

After a year and a half, Pushkarev was handed over to their league rivals Dallas Stars in February 2007 by the Los Angeles Kings in a Mattias Norström and Jaroslav Modrý comprehensive transfer deal . In this, the Kazakh then could not prevail, so that he was only used for Dallas AHL farm team Iowa Stars . After he moved back to Russia to HK CSKA Moscow at the beginning of the 2007/08 season , he decided to return to Iowa after a few games in the same year. There it was improved compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, he signed a contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk for the 2008/09 season from the newly founded Continental Hockey League . For this he scored five goals in 34 games and gave one template. He was then committed for the 2009/10 season by the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins from the AHL.

In 2010 he moved to the Kazakh KHL club Barys Astana , for which he played until 2018. He was also used in parallel for the club's second team in the Kazakh championship, which was called Nomad Astana from 2013 .

International

For Kazakhstan , Pushkarev took part in the junior division at the U18 world championships in 2002 in Division I and in 2003 , when he and Alexander Ovechkin became the tournament's top scorer, in the top division and in the U20 World Cup in 2003 in Division I. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2011 , 2013 and 2015 and in the top division in 2012 and 2014 . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014 .
