Konstantin Rudolf Adolf Wilhelm von Griesheim (born May 22, 1797 in Halle , † October 30, 1881 in Düsseldorf ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

family

Konstantin Rudolf Adolf Wilhelm was a member of the Thuringian noble family von Griesheim . He was the son of the Prussian major Friedrich Wilhelm von Griesheim (1746–1821) and his wife Luise Wilhelmine, born von Kalckreuth (1760–1833). Griesheim married Charlotte Luise Adelheid Köhnemann (* 1809), divorced from Kleist in Berlin in 1840 , but left no heirs.

Career

Griesheim joined the Prussian Army in 1813 as a volunteer hunter in the 8th Leib-Infanterie-Regiment . He took part in the Wars of Liberation , in particular the battles on the Katzbach , Wartenburg and Paris . In 1814 he was promoted to portepee ensign in the 1st Grenadier Regiment and in 1815 was promoted to second lieutenant . In 1831 he was aggregated to the 32nd Infantry Regiment , but switched to the 9th Infantry Regiment (called Colbergsches) in 1823, where he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant in 1831 . Griesheim was commanded to the training infantry regiment in 1837. In 1838 he became captain and company commander . His transfer to the 14th Infantry Regiment with patent from 1837 took place in 1840. Griesheim was finally major and commander of the III. Battalions in the 14th Landwehr Regiment. In 1850 he was transferred back to the 32nd Infantry Regiment, where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1853 . In 1854 Griesheim was promoted to colonel and at the same time appointed commander of the 35th Infantry Regiment (3rd Reserve Regiment) in Luxembourg . He received the Order of the Red Eagle III in January 1857 . Class with a bow and was put up for disposal on August 22nd of the same year as major general with a pension . In 1861 Griesheim was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves.
