Career
Giannoulis comes from the youth of Vataniakos Piraeus . In 2005 he moved to the professional squad of Panionios Athens , but was loaned to the Fostiras in Tavros and then to the Pierikos in Katerini. At Pierikos, who were then playing in the third Greek league, he gained his first experience and was able to move up with the club at the end of the 2006/07 season.
He then moved to Iraklis Saloniki . There he established himself as a regular player. After the club could not continue to pay his salary, Giannoulis looked for a new club.
For the 2010/11 season he moved to 1. FC Köln after he had also completed a trial training at 1. FC Kaiserslautern . He received a three-year contract until June 30, 2013 and should be used as a left-back. However, he could not prevail and did not play a competitive game. In the 2011/12 season he was loaned to Atromitos Athens .
After his return to Cologne , at the end of the preparation for the 2012/13 season, coach Holger Stanislawski removed him from the professional squad and released him to look for a new club. A few days later it was agreed to terminate the contract. On the same day, Atromitos Athens announced the commitment of Giannoulis. He signed a three-year contract until the end of June 2015. In the summer of 2014 Giannoulis moved to the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus . After a year in Piraeus, he moved to league rivals Asteras Tripolis .
