The Kratzenberg , also Kratzenbergkopf , is 3022 m above sea level. A. high mountain peak in the main Alpine ridge of the Venediger group . It is located in the southwest of the Pinzgau ( Land Salzburg ) and in the north of East Tyrol .
location
The Kratzenberg is a summit in the eastern part of the Tauern main ridge within the Venediger group. It is located in the Hohe Tauern National Park on the municipal boundaries of Bramberg am Wildkogel , Hollersbach in Pinzgau and Matrei in East Tyrol , with the surrounding area on the Tyrolean side being owned by the Austrian Alpine Association. The Kratzenberg is located between the Schwarzkopf ( 2996 m above sea level ) in the southwest, the Seekopf ( 2921 m above sea level ) in the southeast and the Schafkopf in the north. The Kratzenberg is separated from the Schwarzkopf by the Schwarzkopfscharte ( 2868 m above sea level ), from the Seekopf by the Kratzenbergscharte ( 2859 m above sea level ) and from the Schafkopf by the Seescharte ( 2799 m above sea level ). Between Kratzenberg and Seekopf, the northern Vil carrykees stretches to the west to the Plattigen Habach , in the north is the Habachkees , which runs west, and in the east, the Kratzenbergkees . To the northeast lies the Kratzenbergsee .
Promotion opportunities
A hiking trail runs west of the Kratzenberg over the Schwarzkopfscharte, which connects the Neue Thüringer Hütte with the Alte Prager Hütte (Fürther Weg) or the St. Pöltner Hütte (St. Pöltner Westweg), crossing both the Habachkees and the northern Vilhabenkees have to. The normal route to the Kratzenberg leads from the Schwarzkopfscharte over the block area of the southern flank to the summit ( UIAA I ). Other ascent options are the southeast ridge from the Kratzenbergscharte ( UIAA I ), the southwest ridge from the Schwarzkopfscharte ( UIAA II ) and via the north ridge or the east face (both UIAA III ).
