The Kreidacher height is a pass in the Odenwald in the district Wald-Michelbach the community Wald-Michelbach in the Bergstraße district in Hesse .
Geographical location
The Kreidacher Höhe is a conveniently located 423 meter high mountain saddle in the Vorderen Odenwald west of Wald-Michelbach and east of Kreidach. This is the lowest point of the watershed between the Ulfenbach in the east and the Weschnitz in the west. The border of the Wald-Michelbach district extends from the east a little beyond the ridge line of the watershed. The Hotel Kreidacher Höhe is located on the border with the Kreidacher district, a little north of the pass summit . The valley slopes down to Kreidach to Mörlenbach are steep and cut by a short side stream.
traffic
The Kreidacher Höhe bundles the traffic from the Weschnitz valley to the Überwald . Not only does the 679-meter-long Waldmichelbacher Tunnel of the Überwaldbahn run beneath it , but roads from four directions meet at the top.
The state road 3120 crosses the height and thus connects Mörlenbach with Wald-Michelbach. The ascent from Kreidach is very winding because of the steep valley slopes. The aim is to gain around 110 meters in altitude.
Along the ridge line to the north, state road 3409 leads via Stallenkandel and Zotzenbach to Rimbach . And along the ridge line to the south, the state road 535 leads via Siedelsbrunn and Abtsteinach to Neckarsteinach . Finally, the Kreidacher Höhe street branches off here to the hotel of the same name.
Hiking trails such as the high-altitude hiking trail from the Tromm to the Hardberg also lead over the Kreidacher Höhe.
