history

Kreissparkasse Syke

The Kreissparkasse Syke, active in the northern district of the Diepholz district, emerged from six formerly independent savings banks, which were established in the communities of Hoya (1847), Harpstedt (1852), Bassum (1858), Bruchhausen (1861), Twistringen (1862) and Syke (1862) ) were established.

The magistrate and mayor of the Fleckens Syke decided on January 13, 1862 to set up a savings, loan and advance fund, which began its activity on September 15, 1862, after the Royal Landdrostei of Hanover on June 7, 1862 the establishment of one Sparkasse in Syke had approved.

In an official meeting on September 5, 1876, the establishment of an official savings bank in association with the Fleckensparkasse was decided, which began its activity on January 1, 1878 under the name "Spar-, Leih- und Advance Fund for the Office Syke".

With effect from April 1, 1924, the district council of the Syke district decided to transfer the Amtssparkasse to the district communal association. It then traded as "Kreissparkasse zu Syke".

After the merging of the districts of Syke and Hoya , it was continued from November 1, 1932 under the name "Sparkasse des Kreises Grafschaft Hoya zu Syke".

A far-reaching consequence of the district amalgamation was the merger of the public-law savings banks in the new administrative district with the Kreissparkasse in Syke. After the formation of the " District of Hoya County ", the following were transferred by way of amalgamation to the "Sparkasse of the District of Hoya zu Syke" on the basis of a decree by the Prussian State Government : June 1934, the savings bank of the county Hoya zu Hoya on October 1, 1935.

The union of these partly very efficient savings banks with large deposits made the savings bank in Syke one of the largest in what was then the province of Hanover.

In order to be present as close to the customer as possible, the Kreissparkasse systematically expanded its branch network from 1918. The branches in Kirchweyhe , Heiligenfelde , Leeste and Nordwohlde were founded in 1918 , followed the following year by branches in Riede and Brinkum , in 1921 in Heiligenrode , and on February 15, 1925 the Barrien branch commenced operations. In 1927, the Kreissparkasse set up acceptance points in Okel , Felde and Fahrenhorst .

On April 1, 1963, the company name was changed to "Kreissparkasse Grafschaft Hoya".

As a result of the municipal and territorial reform, the Riede branch was transferred to the Sparkasse Verden on January 1, 1975, while the Moordeich branch was taken over by the Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg .

Due to the law on the administrative and territorial reform of the state of Lower Saxony, the district of Grafschaft Hoya was dissolved on August 1, 1977. The legal successor was the district of Diepholz with the separation of the combined municipality of Grafschaft Hoya , Eystrup and Harpstedt. For many decades the Sparkasse had a total of 17 branches in these communities.

The intended goal of keeping the Sparkasse in its current form could not be achieved. The 5 branches located in the area of the integrated community of Harpstedt had to be transferred to the Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg on January 1, 1983. The 12 branches in the joint municipalities of Grafschaft Hoya and Eystrup were transferred to the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Nienburg on January 1st, 1987.

As a result of this transfer, the historical reference point for the previous name of the Sparkasse no longer existed. For this reason, the name was changed to "Kreissparkasse Syke" with effect from January 1, 1987.

In the summer of 1985, a generous conversion and extension could be moved into, which met all customer and employee requirements.
