history

Kroptewitz is a manor settlement. In 1306 the village of Croptuwitz was referred to the parish church in Bockelwitz. In 1548 it is not mentioned in the official inheritance books. In 1551, Kroptewitz and its Vorwerk belonged to the Sion manor. It was owned by the von Kötteritzsch family since the 15th century (see Sitten ). Some of the manor owners named Kamprad (1753), also Kunze (2007) and the album of the manors (1860).

The place was initially parish to Altleisnig , since 1306 to Bockelwitz.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Dobernitz was incorporated.
