Polditz is a district of the city of Leisnig in the district of central Saxony . The village has around 160 inhabitants and is not far from the Freiberg Mulde on a small hill.

history

Historical research is divided as to whether the place was documented in the High Middle Ages or not. The village has belonged to the Leisnig district since early modern times . Since the 19th century. was the district administration in Döbeln , only since 2008 in Freiberg .

church

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Nicolai was built in 1865 after the previously used church in Altleisnig burned down. It is a neo-Romanesque building. Friedrich Ladegast equipped it with an organ in 1868 . It has 33 registers on 3 manuals and 1 pedal. It was restored in 1996. The church was restored between 1987 and 1993. It is a listed building. The responsible rectory is the Zschoppach rectory near Thümmlitzwalde .

The organ was recreated in 2003 for the town church in Hämeenlinna .

On November 29, 2018, the 150th anniversary of the consecration of the Ladegast Orgal was celebrated with a gala concert. It took u. a. the organist of the Dresden Frauenkirche, Samuel Kummer , and the Leipzig Thomaskantor Gotthold Schwarz participated. One month later, on December 29th, 2018, the 1st Polditz Wind Instruments Christmas took place under the direction of Ludwig Güttler , at which more than 700 listeners were counted.

Culture

The active associations include the Organ Association and the Association of Friends of Homeland. There is a church association partnership with Langeoog .

Others

On July 6, 2012, a local storm with hail destroyed a large part of the roofs in Polditz. Numerous cars and window panes were also badly damaged or completely destroyed. The church was also affected. More than two hundred windows were broken by the tennis ball-sized hailstones.
