The Kruckelkopf is a 3181  m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Schober group in Carinthia . The Kruckelkopf was first climbed on August 5, 1870 by Carl Gussenbauer .

location

The Kruckelkopf is located in the southeast of the Schobergruppe on the municipal boundary between Großkirchheim in the northwest and Mörtschach in the southeast. The border with East Tyrol runs only around 800 meters southwest. The Kruckelkopf, a rounded panoramic mountain with a sweeping south-west ridge, is located between the Petzeck ( 3283  m above sea level ) in the northeast and the Eastern Perschitzkopf ( 3084  m above sea level ) in the southwest. Between the Petzeck and the Kruckelkopf the Petzeckscharte is ( 3040  m above sea level. A. ), drops from which the Kruckelkar to southeast. In the south-west the Perschitzscharte ( 2974  m above sea level ) marks the transition to the eastern Perschitzkopf. In the north-west there are the Gradenkees, the Gradensee and the Adolf-Noßberger-Hütte , in the south there is the Wangenitzseehütte with the Kreuzsee and the Wangenitzsee , which feeds the Wangenitzbach .

Promotion opportunities

The normal route to the Kruckelkopf starts at the Wangenitzseehütte in the south, which can be reached, for example, from the Debanttal (East Tyrol) to the southeast or from the Mölltal through the Wangenitzbach valley. From the Wangenitzseehütte the ascent leads over scree heaps and block fields first to the Perschitzscharte, from where the south-west ridge is first climbed with a short climb and finally an easy ridge ( I ). Alternative ascent options consist of the Petzeckscharte ( II ), over the southeast ridge ( III- ) or the north face ( V- ).
