With Zaprešić he won the Croatian Cup in the 1991/92 season . For the 1995/96 season he continued his career abroad with his move to the Belgian club KSK Beveren . After just one season abroad, he returned to Croatia in 1996 and joined his first club, Dinamo Zagreb. In contrast to his first employment at Dinamo, he quickly gained a permanent position and rose to become a manager. So he and his club were four times in a row Croatian champions and twice in a row Croatian cup winners . With the league and cup titles in the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons, he also belonged to the team that won the Croatian double twice in a row .
For the 1999/00 season Jurčić moved again abroad and was obliged this time by Torino . Here he played for two seasons as a supplementary player and then moved to league rivals Sampdoria Genoa .
In the summer transfer period 2002/03 he returned to Croatia with his move to NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica . He played here for two seasons and then retired in the summer of 2004.

In the following three years he played a total of 21 times for the A-selection of his country. He also played a game for Croatia's B selection in 1999.
Coaching career
Jurčić began his coaching career in 2005 as head coach at NK Istra in 1961 . With this club he finished the season in 6th place in the table and gave him the best first division placement in the club's history. After this performance he was hired as head coach in 2007 at his last club as a player, at NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica . He led this club to the runner-up at the end of the season and thus also to the best first division placement in the club's history.
In March 2009, his former club Dinamo Zagreb hired him as head coach. Jurčić led the club at the end of the season to both the Croatian championship and the Croatian Cup and thus also to the Croatian double win . He achieved this success both as a player and as a coach. In the following season he managed to defend his title in the championship, but his contract was not extended at the end of the season.
Jurčić remained unemployed until March 2011 and took over NK Lokomotiva Zagreb until the end of the season . For the new season he was again head coach of Dinamo Zagreb and looked after him until the winter break. Following the European Championship in 2012 , Jurčić began working for the Croatian national team as an assistant coach, assisting national coach Igor Štimac .
In November 2013 he returned to Dinamo Zagreb as head coach, replacing Ante Čačić . At the end of the season he led the club again to the Croatian championship and on top of that to the Croatian Supercup victory . After his club was eliminated in the play-offs of the Europa League against FK Austria Wien , Jurčić was dismissed.
After the dismissal at Dinamo Zagreb Jurčić took over the reigning Slovenian champion NK Maribor .
