Krzywa Góra ( German Blumenthal ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Krzywa Góra is located in the municipality of Pokój in the Namysłowski powiat in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Krzywa Góra is located in the north-western part of Upper Silesia. Krzywa Góra is located about six kilometers south of the Pokój municipal seat, about 28 kilometers southeast of the district town of Namysłów and 25 kilometers north of the voivodeship capital Opole .

The Budkowitzer Bach (Polish Budkowiczanka ), a left tributary of the Stober (Polish Stobrawa ), flows south of the village . To the north of the village there are extensive forest areas that are part of the Stobrawski Landscape Protection Park. Krzywa Góra is located on Droga wojewódzka 454 Voivodeship Road .

The village of Blumenthal was founded as a colony. The Slavic place name Krzywa Góra means Krummberg .

In 1744 a Protestant school was established in the village.

In 1810 a cemetery was laid out on the west side of the village. In 1845 there was a Protestant school, a sub-forestry and another 25 houses in the village. In the same year, 198 people lived in Blumenthal, 49 of them Catholic. In 1874 the administrative district Murow was founded, to which Blumenthal was incorporated.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 178 eligible voters in the rural community of Blumenthal voted to remain with Germany and ten for Poland. Blumenthal remained with the German Empire . In 1933 188 people lived in Blumenthal, in 1939 189 again. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .

In 1945 the previously German town of Blumenthal came under Polish administration and was renamed Krzywa Góra and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to Powiat Namysłowski .

Attractions

  • The Roman Catholic cemetery in the west of the village was laid out in 1810. This has been a listed building since 1992.
