Kurd Pieritz
Kurd Rudolf Pieritz , also Curd Pieritz and Kurt Pieritz (born June 26, 1918 in Greifswald , † December 25, 2010 in Hamburg ) was a German actor .
Life
The son of a merchant grew up in Stralsund and graduated from high school there. He wanted to become an actor and received a recommendation from state actor Theodor Loos , but when the Second World War broke out he became a participant in the war.
After returning home from captivity, he went to Düsseldorf , where he received a scholarship in 1949 at the drama school of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus under Gustaf Gründgens . In 1950 he made his debut in Rheydt , further stations in his career were Würzburg , Braunschweig , Wiesbaden and Darmstadt . Since 1960 he has lived as a freelance actor in West Berlin .
Pieritz was seen in the film from 1957, and in 1958 he played the chief pilot Mitch Bryk in the DEFA war film Geschwader Fledermaus . In addition to war films, it was mainly used in crime novels, including several Edgar Wallace films . Mostly he embodied shady characters.
In the 1960s he became a regular star in television documentaries on German history. He received his most important role in the title role of a two-part film about the German President Friedrich Ebert . Pieritz also made a name for himself as a painter and draftsman. He lived in Hamburg for the last few decades.
