The film, produced by Aurora Television on behalf of ZDF, describes a mutiny by German sailors in the high seas in the summer of 1917 at the end of the First World War. The mutiny fails, the rebellious sailors on the large- scale ships SMS Friedrich der Große and SMS Prinzregent Luitpold are arrested.
