Gaps (aristocratic family)
Lücken , historically also Lucken or Luck , is the name of an old Mecklenburg noble family . Branches of the family persist to this day.
history
It is not certain whether Hince Lucken, who was mentioned in a document in 1286, can be assigned to the family or whether it was first mentioned in a document with Hennikino Lucken on October 17, 1351. The secured line of trunks begins with Clawes Lucke, who was mentioned in a document in 1473 as Lord of Massow , followed in 1502 by Ernst von Lücken on the estate . Massow was to remain the lineage of the family until 1930. The bell in the village church of Massow from 1722 bears both the Lückensche and Flotow coats of arms. In the churchyard belonging to the church there are 24 grave slabs from Gücken.
In 1495 Heinrich von Lücken was in the Duke's entourage at the Diet of Worms .
Already under the government of Friedrich III. the family was able to attain high esteem and prosperity in Denmark too, Key Lücken was nicknamed the rich there at that time .
The family also provided numerous officers in the Prussian army .
In the registration book of the Dobbertin monastery there are 26 entries by daughters of the von Lücken families from Godenswege, Zahrenstorf, Massow and Grabenitz from the years 1762–1903 for inclusion in the noble women's monastery there . The coat of arms with the attached order cross and the alliance coat of arms of the conventual No. 715 Eva Dorothea von Lücken is on the nuns gallery in the monastery church .
The 29-year-old Fritz von Lücken drowned in the sinking of the Principessa Mafalda on October 25, 1927, because he left his lifebuoy to a young girl.
A gender association of those von Lücken was founded in 1904.
