Ladeburg Schäferpfühle
The nature reserve Ladeburger Schäferpfühle is located in the district of Ladeburg in the district of Barnim, which belongs to the city of Bernau near Berlin . It has a size of 26.68 hectares. It was declared a nature reserve on December 19, 2000. The nature reserve is part of the Barnim Nature Park .
Protection purpose
The protection of the Schäferpfühle to the west of Ladeburg serves the goal of preserving a post-glacial flat moor complex as a habitat for threatened plant communities and rare bird and amphibian species typical for Barnim .
flora
The flora of the Ladeburger Schäferpfühle is determined by wet and fresh meadows, large sedge areas and willow and buckthorn communities . Broad-leaved orchid ( Dactylorhiza majalis ) can be found in the meadows . The cuckoo's light carnation ( Lychnis flos-cuculi ) can also be found. In order to prevent the meadow landscape from becoming overgrown, Galloway cattle have grazed regularly for several years .
fauna
The numerous small bodies of water in the nature reserve are the habitat of the fire- bellied toad ( Bombina bombina ), the heraldic animal of the Barnim Nature Park, which is on the Brandenburg Red List and is threatened with extinction . Other amphibian species are native. Numerous endangered bird species and migrants use the Schäferpfühle as a breeding and resting place. The breeding white stork ( Ciconia ciconia ) in Ladeburg can be regularly seen foraging on the meadows in the summer months.
