Ladislav Horský (born September 18, 1927 in Valaská , † September 24, 1983 in Brno ) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player and coach . As a coach he was once Czechoslovakian champion with Slovan ChZJD Bratislava , and as a coach he also won several medals at junior and men's world championships .

Career

As a player, Horsky was mainly active for HC Slovan Bratislava and ATK Prague ( Tankista Prague ). He played a total of 150 league games and scored 71 goals.

After his active career, Horsky became an ice hockey coach and looked after Slovan Bratislava for almost 10 seasons. He was also employed in Germany between 1964 and 1970 at Münchener EV , EC Oberstdorf and Düsseldorfer EG .

With HC Slovan Bratislava he was Czechoslovakian champion at the end of the 1978/79 season .

Parallel to his work at club level, he was in the coaching staff of the Czechoslovak national teams for many years and won several medals. He was also a lecturer at numerous universities in the field of sports and was the author of several books and numerous publications in specialist journals.

In 1982 Horsky accepted a teaching position at the University of Wisconsin before he died shortly after his 56th birthday.
