The Lambach or the Lamba (Low German) is a left tributary of the Kinsbeke in the northeast of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
geography
The water has a total length of 2.8 km. The catchment area lies in the heart of the Ravensberg hill country west of the Werre . The Lambach rises in Enger in the Herringhausen West district near the Herringhauser sports field and flows into the Kinsbeke in Herford - Eickum near the Diebrocker Friedhof . The Kinsbeke in turn flows into the Aa .
The water flows through the towns of Enger and Herford on its way from the source to the mouth . The brook changes only once between Herford and Enger. It partially forms their common border. The only tributaries are field drainages.
environment
Directly behind its source near the Herringhauser sports field, the stream flows through a forest, but runs most of the time through fields and pastures. Before the sewer system was built in Herringhausen and Eickum, sewage was also discharged into the stream. Today only rainwater can be discharged from the roof drainage system. In the Herford area, the stream flows through the Asbeke-Kinzbachtal nature reserve .
Oddities
In the 1980s, the Lambach claimed a human life. An older man drowned near the border triangle in Eickum. This is amazing because the Lambach is only about 50 cm wide at this point. It is rarely deeper than 30 cm along its entire length.
