history
The village of Landsmierz was probably created in the 18th century. In 1845 the place owned a water mill, an inn and a brick factory. The first school was built in 1880.
In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 137 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 267 for Poland. Landsmierz remained with the entire constituency of Cosel in the German Empire. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration, was renamed Landzmierz and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 Landsmierz became part of the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 the re-established Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On October 11, 2007, the place was given the official German place name Landsmierz , in September 2008 bilingual place name signs were put up.
