Kobelwitz , Polish Kobylice , is a village in Upper Silesia in the municipality Czissek (Cisek) in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski in the Opole Voivodeship .

Kobelwitz is located five kilometers northwest of the municipality seat Czissek , five kilometers southwest of the district town Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and 43 kilometers southeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1300 as Cobilitz .

In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 283 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 53 for Poland. Kobelwitz remained with the German Empire. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration, was renamed Kobylice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 Kobelwitz became part of the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 the re-established Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On October 11, 2007, the place was given the official German place name Kobelwitz , in September 2008 bilingual place name signs were put up.
