Stöblau , Polish Steblów , is a village in Upper Silesia in the municipality of Czissek (Polish Cisek ) in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski in the Opole Voivodeship .

Stöblau is five kilometers southwest of the municipality seat Czissek , twelve kilometers south of the district town Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and fifty kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place, which was founded as a Vorwerk , was first mentioned in 1532 as Steblowitz .

In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 166 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 66 for Poland. Stöblau remained with the German Empire. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Steblów on June 28, 1948 . In 1950 the place became part of the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 the re-established Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On October 11, 2007 the place was given the official place name Stöblau , in September 2008 bilingual place name signs were put up.
