Steblów ( German  Stöblau ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Krapkowice (Krappitz) in the powiat Krapkowicki (district of Krappitz) in the Voivodeship of Opole (Opole).

The Hotzenplotz flows through the village .

history

The place was created in the 13th century at the latest and was first mentioned in 1294 as "Styblow". 1302 followed a mention as "de Stebbulou". The place name should be derived from a person's name.

The place was mentioned in 1784 in the book Additions to the Description of Silesia as Steblau , belonged to a Count von Seherr-Thoss and was in the Neustadt district of the Principality of Opole . At that time he had 133 inhabitants, a Vorwerk , eight peasants, 15 gardeners and three cottagers . In 1865 Stöblau consisted of a manor belonging to the Dobrau lordship and a village. At that time the village had 14 farm positions, seven gardening positions and 41 cottage positions, as well as a Catholic school. Many of the residents found a part-time job in the stone quarries near Krappitz. The residents were parish in Krappitz.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 337 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 75 for membership in Poland. After the division of Upper Silesia, Stöblau remained with the German Empire . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the until then German place came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Steblów . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Krapkowicki .
