Langenich is a district of the city of Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Langenich is west of the city center. Until a few years ago, the federal highway 264 ran through the town. In the meantime it was relocated as a bypass . The Neffelbach flows through Langenich . Between the village and Kerpen there is an industrial area with many retail markets and a fast food restaurant.
history
The village is first mentioned in a document from 866. With Langenaccare (Langenich) then one was Fronhof referred. In the Prümer Urbar the property is called 893 "de Langenaccher". At that time there was a watermill in Langenich am Neffelbach , the Langenicher Mühle . She disappeared before 1587. Langenich used to have a stop on the Mödrath - Oberbolheim railway line. This route was built by the Bergheimer Kreisbahn and extended to Nörvenich by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1924 . In 1997 the ceramics factory was demolished, on the site of which the industrial park now exists.
