Laura Leighton (born July 24, 1968 in Iowa City , Iowa ; actually Laura Miller ) is an American actress .

Life

Laura Leighton graduated from California State University in Long Beach with a degree in economics before deciding to switch to acting. She began her career as a member of the Young Americans . In 1995 she won the US Magazine Entertainer of the Year Award. In the same year she was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award .

After a few appearances in television films, she received the role of Sydney Andrews in the hit series Melrose Place in 1993 , which she played until 1997 and which brought her a Golden Globe nomination in 1995. Incidentally, it was also the first role in her career.

Laura Leighton had eleven guest appearances in five television series, four appearances as a leading actor. Laura Leighton plays Leslie Town in the crime series Eyes and Sydney Andrews in Melrose Place . Laura Leighton played the role of Ashley Marin in the drama series Pretty Little Liars from 2010 to 2017.

In recent years, she has mainly appeared as a guest actress on television series such as Tru Calling and CSI: Miami . She also appeared in the crime series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , the law series Shark and other television series.

On the set of the series Melrose Place , Leighton fell in love with her fellow actor Doug Savant and married him in May 1998. The two now have two children.
