Laurent Madouas (* 8. February 1967 in Rennes , Region Brittany ) is a former French cyclist . He was a professional from 1988 to 2001 .

Career

In 1988 Madouas signed a contract with Crédit Agricole and was able to achieve a third place at the GP Tell and a 10th place at the Grand Prix des Amériques that year. In the 1992 Tour of Lombardy , he reached 11th place. He finished the Giro d'Italia 1995 and the Tour de France in 12th place and came in second at the GP Ouest France-Plouay and La Poly Normande . In 1996 he finished fourth in Liège – Bastogne – Liège and ninth the following year. Also in 1997 he came second at the Classique des Alpes and the Grand Prix de Wallonie . In 1999 he won a stage at the Critérium du Dauphiné .

Madouas ended his career at Festina-Lotus in 2001 .

His son Valentin is also a cyclist.

doping

Madouas tested positive for the doping agent salbutamol in 1993 and was banned from the French Cycling Federation for one month .
