Lausch Medien is a radio play publisher based in Hamburg , which specializes in the implementation of fantastic content. Both own and licensed fabrics are produced. In addition to the genres of science fiction , dark fantasy and mystery thriller , the publisher's portfolio also includes works from the field of comic adaptations and gothic horror .

history

In 2004 director and producer Günter Merlau founded the company Lausch - Fantastic radio play and audio book production in Hamburg . In 2006 the in-house label Lausch - Fantastic Radio Play was founded. Shortly thereafter, Janet Ivana Sunjic joined them, who took over the management department. In January 2006 they founded the publishing house. With the science fiction thriller Caine 01: The Amulet of Kyan'Kor , the first own radio play production appeared. This was followed by the horror comedy radio play B.Ö.SE, Everything will be fine! and the mystery series The Black Sun as well as an adaptation of the Dungeons & Dragons novel series Drizzt - The Saga of the Dark Elf by the American author RA Salvatore . Since 2008, Lausch has also produced and published Punktown , a series of staged and musically illustrated readings of the science fiction stories by Jeffrey Thomas , as well as the radio play series Hellboy , based on the comic book by Mike Mignola . In addition to its own series and series, Lausch produces the series Fear Street and Larry Brent as well as the original audio plays for Peter Jackson's film trilogy The Lord of the Rings for WortArt for the Europa label ( Sony Music ) .

In 2011, the company announced that it had completely stopped its own production of adult radio plays due to falling sales and thus a lack of income. Instead, the business field was placed on commissioned work in the field of radio plays and audio books and the dubbing of films and games. The series Drizzt and Hellboy were discontinued, the 12 episode series Die Schwarze Sonne initially remained unfinished. In March 2015, Merlau commented on a possible finale of The Black Sun and admitted that in addition to the lower sales figures, the massive criticism from the radio play community had been a reason for the end of the production of radio plays at Lausch. The radio play series Die Schwarze Sonne, produced by Lausch, has been published and continued by the radio play label Maritim since 2016 .

In addition to radio play and audio book production, Günter Merlau offers radio play workshops in cooperation with the children's drama school TASK, in which children can learn to act behind the microphone. Since 2008 the label has also published the book Das Erbe der Kassettenkinder by Annette Bastian. Lausch was also the organizer of the radio play fair (own spelling: DIE HÖRSPIEL), a German trade and visitor fair on the subject of commercial radio play. The event was also suspended in 2011 with the discontinuation of own radio play productions.

speaker

Lausch Medien draws on prominent voices from the dubbing field, for example Tobias Meister in the title role of the radio play series Drizzt , Torsten Michaelis as Steven Caine, Claudia Urbschat-Mingues as Linda Watkins, Lutz Riedel and Klaus Sonnenschein in the series Caine or Gerrit Schmidt -Foss and Dietmar Wunder in the Punktown series .
