Lauschgift is the fourth regular studio album by the hip-hop group Die Fantastischen Vier . It was released on September 11, 1995 by Sony Music Entertainment . The title of the piece, like the introductory 17-second excerpt, comes from the film Breakfast at Tiffany's . In 2009, on the occasion of the band's 20th stage anniversary, a digitally revised version of the album was released, which also contains bonus tracks. In 2013, bugging was rated five out of five in the milestones section of the online magazine laut.de.

Style and texts

With "Lauschgift" Die Fantastischen Vier consistently developed their style further. Little is left of the psychedelic sound of the previous album The 4th Dimension .

The lyrics deal, among other things, with life as a successful musician ( popular , stay relaxed ), but are partly thought-provoking to philosophical ( Thomas and philosophy , I am , warrior ). She's gone and Love Sucks shed light on the subject of love.

Quotations and samples can be heard again between the pieces , including from Albert Einstein ( Albert und die Philosophie ). The intro at the beginning of the album is a language sequence from the American film Breakfast at Tiffany's , dubbed in German, from 1961, in this scene the film character Mr. Yunioshi, played by actor Mickey Rooney , makes a police team aware of suspected drugs in the neighboring apartment of his house However, because of his Japanese origins, Mr. Yunioshi cannot speak an R and instead says " Here is drug everywhere! "

The title of the song Die Geschichte des O alludes to the French film Die Geschichte des O from 1975.
