Lawtey is a city in Bradford County in the US state of Florida with 730 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Lawtey is about 10 km north of Starke and 40 km southwest of Jacksonville .
history
The railroad age in what is now Lawtey began in 1858 with the construction of the Florida Railroad between Fernandina and Starke .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 730 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 341 households. The population density was 197.3 inh / km². 60.7% of the population identified themselves as whites, 35.9% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 0.4% as Asian Americans . 1.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.4% to several ethnic groups. 2.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
