Lehndorf-Watenbüttel is an urban district (No. 321, until 11.2006 No. 412) of Braunschweig , which includes the northwestern districts. Together with the districts of Veltenhof-Rühme and Wenden-Thune-Harxbüttel , Lehndorf-Watenbüttel forms electoral district 32.

The city district is located on the federal highway 214 , south of the A 2 , mostly west of the A 391 and north of the federal highway 1 .
There is access to the inland waterways via the marina at Celler Heerstraße 333 .
Information about the municipality
The total number of inhabitants is 20,950. Thanks to the new “Lammer Busch West” development, the number of residents has increased significantly in recent years. The north-western part of the district, in particular the district of Völkenrode, is considered an "upscale" residential area.

The coat of arms of the district of Watenbüttel, a golden spinning wheel on a blue background, reminds that the sculptor and builder Johann Jürgen from Watenbüttel is said to have developed the winged spinning wheel with foot drive around 1530 .
