Wabe-Schunter-Beberbach is a district of Braunschweig (No. 112), which includes some districts in the northeast and east. Together with the districts of Hondelage and Volkmarode , Wabe-Schunter-Beberbach forms the electoral district 11.

history

The district of Wabe-Schunter-Beberbach was created on November 1, 2011 through the merger of the districts 111− Wabe-Schunter and 112− Bienrode-Waggum-Bevenrode , decided by a majority resolution in the district councils at that time, but politically very controversial . The city district council was elected in September 2011. The name is derived from the waters Wabe , Schunter and Beberbach . First, Gliesmarode-Querum-Waggum was announced as the name for the new city district. At the district council meeting on September 23, 2015, an application to dissolve the district and restore the two original districts failed. This application was made by the CDU, which brought about the merger of the two districts in 2011.
