history

Beet seed drill

The cantor and teacher Ludwig Lüders invented the beet seed drill in Leiferde, which made it possible to plant the beet kernels in the ground without the help of the children. The reason for this invention was the high number of students who could not come to school because they had to help out in the fields. Even today there is a memorial stone in front of the church in Leiferde, which reminds of his invention and him. (The machine was in the farmer's museum in Rautheim until it was closed )

coat of arms

The two districts of Leiferde and Stöckheim have two similar district coats of arms, which differ only in the blue beet seeder and the blue wagon wheel, since the places belonged to the same district after the incorporation in 1974.
