Bo Leif Andersson (born April 26, 1961 in Finspång ) is a former Swedish biathlete .

Leif Andersson was active for the skid club Bore . In the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s he was part of the Swedish national team. He first took part in a major international event at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . In the sprint he ran to 24th place and achieved eighth place in the individual, his best individual result in races of the highest classes in biathlon. A year later Andersson took part in his first biathlon world championships in Ruhpolding and was used in the sprint, which he finished 29th. It was not until the 1987 World Championships in Lake Placid that the Swede could compete again in a major event. at the competitions in the USA Andersson was 32nd in the sprint and 37th in the individual. The following year he started for the second time at the Olympic Games . In Calgary it was used for the first time in all three possible races. He was 57th in the sprint, 37th in the individual and seventh with Peter Sjöden , Mikael Löfgren and Roger Westling as the final runner of the Swedish relay. At the World Championships in 1989 in Feistritz an der Drau and in 1990 in Minsk , Andersson only started in the singles and reached places 36 and 48. The Swede achieved his greatest international success at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . At the races held in Les Saisies , Andersson was only 38th in the individual, but he won the bronze medal with Ulf Johansson , Tord Wiksten and Löfgren behind the relays from Germany and the CIS. It was the first biathlon medal for Sweden since Lars-Göran Arwidson won the bronze medal in the singles of the 1972 Games . In 1993 he took part in the world championships for the fifth and last time. In Borovets he was 34th of the individual and came with the relay in Olympic line-up in sixth place. Last major event was Andersson's fourth Olympic Games in 1994 in Lillehammer . The Swede was 25th over 20 kilometers and eleventh in the relay.

In the biathlon world cup , Andersson was used regularly from the first half of the 1980s until the 1994/95 season . He repeatedly achieved points, but was only able to achieve results in the top 20 sporadically. After his active career he worked for the Swedish Association.
