description

Lerchenauer Strasse runs from Schleißheimer Strasse east of the Olympiapark (with access to the Central University Sports Facility , at a bunker , the Olympiadorf and the student district via Helene-Mayer-Ring or Connollystrasse ) to the BMW Welt , the BMW Museum , the BMW -Werk and the underground station Olympiazentrum / Brundageplatz past in a north-north-west direction near the Dreiseenplatte up to Pflaumstraße in Feldmoching . It crosses the Georg-Brauchle-Ring / Petuelring and the Moosacher Straße .

The Lerchenauer Straße thus crosses the districts of Schwabing , Am Riesenfeld , Lerchenau and Feldmoching . To the north of Moosacher Strasse, it crosses under the Munich Nordring at Milbertshofen station with an underpass . South of Feldmoching train station , Lerchenauer Straße crosses the connecting line from Feldmoching to the Nordring and the Munich – Regensburg railway line with two level crossings . Between Moosacher Strasse and Preußenstrasse there is also a small section of the Outer Radlring . There are architectural monuments at Lerchenauer Strasse 34, 53 and 307.

history

Lerchenauer Strasse was named after the Lerchenau colony , which was built on the outskirts of Munich as part of Feldmoching in 1901 and was incorporated into Munich in 1938 . Until 1947, Lerchenauer Strasse was called Münchner Strasse there .
