Ultimately we don't care about the universe (English original title: Every Day ) is an American fantasy drama film by Michael Sucsy, based on the novel by David Levithan . In the film, Angourie Rice plays 16-year-old Rhiannon, who falls in love with a wandering soul that wakes up in a different body every morning; Justice Smith , Debby Ryan and Maria Bello also star.

action

"A" is a traveling spirit that experiences every day in the body of a different teenager. A wakes up in the body of Justin, Rhiannon's negligent friend. At school, Rhiannon approaches Justin, whose body has been taken over by A, and convinces him to skip school with her. Later that day, A falls in love with Rhiannon as she confides in her troubled personal life after her father's collapse, which almost led to the loss of her family's home. Rhiannon feels a re-awakened love for Justin, who appears to be a more thoughtful and caring person. The next day, however, she notices that Justin has returned to his old, careless self and no longer remembers the day before, when A had taken over his body. Meanwhile, A wakes up inside Amy's body posing as an exchange student to be close to Rhiannon.

The next day, A wakes up as Nathan, goes to a party, and finds Rhiannon. A dances with her and Rhiannon gives A her cell phone number. A tells Rhiannon that she deserved better than Justin before Justin chased A away. A few days later, A texted Rhiannon to meet up, and she does so, believing she will meet Nathan from the party. However, A arrives as Megan and declares that A is Justin, Amy and Nathan and has fallen in love with them. Rhiannon is initially dismissive, but nevertheless agrees to meet with A again the next day. Now A reveals - this time in the body of James - that A has changed bodies every day since he was a child. A shows Rhiannon a private Instagram account with pictures that were taken in each body and through which Rhiannon can communicate with A. After meeting Nathan, who now believes he is possessed by the devil, Rhiannon realizes that A is real. A, in the body of the more transgender teen Vic, convinces Rhiannon to give A a chance because it is the soul that matters, not the body. After some thought, Rhiannon agrees to continue meeting A.

Surprised to awaken in the body of Rhiannon himself, A sees it as an opportunity to get to know Rhiannon better. A promises to respect Rhiannon's privacy and life and not break up with Justin or look at Rhiannon's naked body. During the day, A connects with Rhiannon's parents and sister. The next day, when Rhiannon finally found the courage, she breaks up with Justin. She immediately invites A to go on a weekend trip to her uncle's hut. A speaks in Xavier's body about the day in Rhiannon's body. Rhiannon tells A that it could be wonderful to leave a trail so people know A exists, but A feels an obligation to keep people's memories unchanged. At the end of the day, A kisses Rhiannon goodbye and promises to return the next day, but doesn't, so Rhiannon is forced to call her mother to pick her up. A later explains that the body had to undergo a lung transplant that day. Rhiannon and A gradually get intimate and promise that they will find out how to keep their relationship going.

A wakes up in the body of suicidal Kelsea and Rhiannon persuades A to hold Kelsea's body for more than 24 hours to keep her alive until Kelsea's father can be made aware of her problem. A is successful and Rhiannon persuades A to stay in her classmate Alexander's body so they can stay together. Although this seems to work over several days, A is not ready to take over someone else's life permanently. When she invites Rhiannon to Alexander's house, A explains that it's not realistic to be together forever and that Alexander himself is perfect for Rhiannon. Rhiannon and A kiss goodbye and wait for A to fall asleep. The next day, A wakes up in a different body and drives to New York while Rhiannon meets Alexander at school.
