Club career
At the age of twelve, Lewis Toshney went to Celtic Glasgow and played there in all age groups of the Celtic Youth Academy . While he was playing in the U-19 of the club, the club signed his first professional contract in his career with the "Bhoys". The defender made his debut for Celtic in February 2011 in a 3-0 away win against FC Aberdeen at Pittodrie Stadium . In the league game in the Scottish Premier League 2010/11 he came on the field in the 85th minute for Scott Brown . This should have been his last game so far in the jersey of the green and white. In February 2012 Toshney was awarded to the league rivals FC Kilmarnock until the end of the season after he could not show any playing minutes under Celtic coach Neil Lennon in the first half of the 2011/12 season . His first of a total of 12 league games for the club from the county of Ayrshire , he completed six days after his commitment to Dunfermline Athletic . In Kilmarnock Toshney had to pause for some time due to an injury and missed the final of the League Cup against his home club from Glasgow, which Kilmarnock won 1-0 with a goal from Dieter van Tornhout . In August 2012 Toshney was loaned to Dundee FC until the end of the season, who had started the 2012/13 season as a promoted team . He signed with Ross County in September 2014 .
National team
In September 2008 Toshney made his debut in the U-17 national team of Scotland against Slovakia. Another international match in this age group against France followed three days later, with the defensive player playing over 90 minutes of play. After three years without having completed any international match, Toshney was used in 2011 in the U-19 in two games against Denmark, where he also acted as team captain. The following year Toshney made his debut in the Scotland U-21s for the first time . In the game against Italy he came on in the 80th minute for Ryan Jack .
