Charts

As the first Bright Eyes album, Lifted ... made it into the US Billboard 200 album charts. It was at number 161 for a week and reached number 11 on the independent album charts.

reception

The album received consistently good to very good reviews. Allmusic even described Conor Oberst as " Indie - Bob-Dylan " and awarded 5.5 out of 6 points. Even Pitchfork Media gave a mostly positive rating of 7.7 out of 10 points.

laut.de even gave the highest rating with 5 out of 5 and formulated the conclusion: [...] with "Lifted ..." Oberst exceeds all expectations! . The 73 minutes of playing time make the album a difficult to access, but grandiose milestone that leaves less to be desired than questions unanswered. For example how Mr. Colonel would like to improve.

The album also appeared in annual album best lists in various music magazines. The readers of the German music magazine Visions voted the album in 2005 at number 67 of the 150 albums for the ages .

Artwork

The artwork of the album is similar to an old book. In the 30-page booklet there are not only the lyrics with decorated initials but also some linocut prints . The title names are only in the booklet; on the back of the cover is just a plain "SC" (for Saddle Creek ) in the middle.

  • Art layout: Matt Maginn
  • Linocuts: Katie Murphy
  • Diorama: Zack Nipper
