In addition to road , cross and track races , the club also offers cycling tours .

history

The RV Concordia was still at the time of the German Empire originally in 1909 as a division of his time in the industrial city of Hannover-Linden acting Catholic Workers' Association Linden founded. It was not until 1913 that the members of the department became independent of it as an independent association.

In the Weimar Republic , the club was called the cycling club Dürkopp-Concordia from 1909 Hanover from April 3, 1926 on the basis of a sponsorship contract with the Dürkopp bicycle works that were producing in Bielefeld . the renaming was retained until the 1950s.

From 1928 Dürkopp-Concordia achieved various successes in the bike ball department , which was not given up again until 1982.

In the post-war period , the club member Wolfgang Grupe won the title of runner-up in the German championship of road drivers in 1951 and 1952. Other members achieved success as Lower Saxony champions both on the road and on the cycling track.

In 1969 the club hosted the German Road Cycling Championships .

At the end of July 1987, the RV Concordia organized a bike tour for the first time : The tour from Hanover via Walsrode to Visselhövede was based on the “Quer durch” race that the RV Pfeil association first organized in 1912, also under the title “ Quer durch die Lüneburg Heath ”.

Lindener Berg criterion

In 2018, the RV Concordia hosted the Lindener Berg Criterion, also known as the Lindener Berg cycling criterion and the Lindener Bergpreis, for the 51st time . This year on May 1 organized road race is the longest race in Hannover and is considered one of the oldest circuit race in Germany.

Race track, classes, entrances

As a criterion in the elite class, the race leads over 40 laps of two kilometers around the Lindener Berg , which is also a challenge for professionals due to its short but steep incline up to the public observatory . However, the traditional race is also offered on the same day for the U15, elite women and U17 classes, for seniors and for amateurs without a license.

The route for the Lindener Bergpreis leads over the streets Am Lindener Berge , Davenstedter Straße , Nieschlagstraße and Am Lindener Berge in the Hanoverian districts of Linden-Mitte and Linden-Süd .

Attendees

In 2015, the almost 300 racing drivers included a team from Denmark and - due to the cancellation of the cycle race around the Eschborn-Frankfurt financial center - also participants, especially from Hesse .

In 2016, the Lindener Berg Criterion had its 49th edition, for which around 300 starters had registered in advance.

In 2018, the competition was part of the Lower Saxony Schools Cup 2018.
